Visit Our Shop

Fantastic story about Lou Del Bianco’s search for his grandfather’s story.  Luigi Del Bianco was the chief carver on Mt. Rushmore.  That’s right, an Italian!

Lou Del Bianco is a nationally recognized children’s entertainer and a 6 time Parents Choice award winner. His cds for children have received critical praise from the NY and LA Times, TV Guide, Parents Magazine, Child Magazine and others.

The subjects of Lou’s autobiographical songs and stories range from gum chewing to school boy crushes to the family dog- all tales that connect with children on a very deep level. Many of these songs and stories can be found on his latest release, “Make a Good Choice!”- a Parents Choice award winner. It is already making a splash in the educational community as an effective way to use storytelling to teach moral values.

Lou has been an artist-in-residence since 1987 and has worked in hundreds of schools alongside teachers to help improve literacy in the classroom through the arts. His KinderArt residency (created with his wife, Camille) was honored by New York State as a model program. Lou’s latest program, “Abraham Lincoln: From Rail-splitter to president”, has been endorsed by the Lincoln Bicentennial Commission.

Lou’s latest venture is his most exciting: a one man show in tribute to his grandfather, Luigi Del Bianco, who was the chief carver on Mount Rushmore. After creating a web site (www.luigimountrushmore.com), Lou wowed audiences at Mount Rushmore when he performed there in July of 2011.  In 2012, the popular tv show, CAKE BOSS honored Luigi with a Mount Rushmore cake. After 25 years, the Del Bianco family is pleased to announce that Luigi is finally being recognized for his unique contribution to our nation’s most iconic memorial.
