Museo Del Cognome
What’s the reason behind the opening of a family history museum as the Museo del Cognome? Which archives to visit and which records collections to check? Stories and tips to avoid getting lost. This and much more in this latest podcast. Michele Cartusciello is a professional genealogist and enthusiast in local traditions and cultures too. My interest in family history started in 1984 when I first stepped into the Registry Office of my hometown, Padula, a beautiful medieval town located 100 km far Salerno, in Campania, Italy. My quest to learn more about my lineage and to create my family tree led me to visit plenty of archives such as registry offices, parishes, and state archives. My dream of a lifetime came true in 2012 when I opened the Museo del Cognome – Family History Museum.  museodelcognome@gmail.com  http://museodelcognome.it/ Podcast English Video English Podcast Italiano Video Italiano Click here to join our group on Facebook

Our Italian Journey
Visit our shop Catch this great interview with Ilene and Gary Modica who downsized, packed up and spent a year touring Italy.  Their book and blog chronicles their journey and quest for Italian citizenship. It Started in 2016 In anticipation of our citizenship, we sold our family home in January 2016, along with most of our possessions. We downsized so much that everything we own fits into four large green Rubbermaid tubs! You know the kind–that you store your Christmas decorations in? It’s funny how much stuff you accumulate and how much you don’t need. Dual Citizenship It has been a true journey through mounds of paperwork and a great deal of time (did I mention money too?) Our initial application at the Los Angeles Italian Consulate was in November 2015 where we provided documents with translations, apostilles, etc. After a period of time with no communication, we received an email that we had to amend many documents. You can read more about our process on our dual citizenship posts. https://ouritalianjourney.comhttp://www.facebook.com/ouritalianjourneyhttp://www.instagram.com/italianjourney/http://www.twitter.com/IleneModicahttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfe0md6bVa2-JKpufLS_J-ghttp://www.pinterest.com/imodica Leave a review: https://tinyurl.com/OIJBookReviewBook newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hiVbFn   Podcast Video Click here to join our group on Facebook
