Antonia was born and raised in New York and also lived in Los Angeles before making her Big Fat Move to Italy in 2019. Her worldwide travel experiences have allowed her to indulge in her favorite interests of writing and photography. She also spends her time teaching English and has a varied translation clientele. Becoming a dual citizen through ancestry has further imbedded her in the culture and language of her beloved adopted country. Lifelong dreams do come true!
Bob Sorrentino is a retired executive from a major global bank. In 2008 he began to research his Italian roots. This led to the creation of a blog, audio podcast and YouTube Channel dedicated to Italian genealogy. Since 2008, using various ancestry tools such as Antenati and FamilySearch he has traced his Toritto roots back several centuries and his Neapolitan roots back 1000 years.
Barbara holds a Bachelor in Political Science ( summa cum laude) from Istituto Universitario l’Orientale, a MA in teaching Italian and a Ditals certificate from the University of Siena ). She also has a cultural and linguistic mediator certificate. For over ten years Barbara participated in the virtual restoration and translation of medieval medical school (Practica Brevis) manuscripts with multispectral camera. She has also worked for many Italian organizations, such as, Arci, Peepul Onlus,, Provincia di Salerno and Lycee in Salerno. Barbara is currently Linguistic and cultural mediator, Italian language teacher for all the grades, courses for college students and professionals (lawyers managers, doctors) at the Academia Leonardo in Salerno, Italy. Barbara’s native language is Italian and she is fluent in English, French and Spanish, as well as a certified translator of Latin.
